It’s almost there. Just a few more days to go. But if you have your eyes only on the new iPhone 8, you might want to know what else Apple is going to unveil at their September 12th event this year. For starters, it’s not just the iPhone 8/Special 10th Anniversary Edition/X that you would be getting to see but probably two more iPhones, a 3rd Gen Apple Watch Series, a 4K Apple TV and even a lot more.
Let’s find out everything that Apple is cooking up for their mega fall event.
iPhone 8, iPhone 7S, & iPhone 7S Plus
According to some pretty strong rumors, Apple is going to come with the iPhone 8 that is expected to be completely redesigned inside out and top to bottom. The new phone could include a glass back, plastic and even ceramic. While the photo leaks reveal a vertical dual-lens camera. The display is going to be OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) with no bezel at all and an indentation on the top for the speaker and sensors.! Even though I don’t want to talk about it, but if Apple is launching the phone that’s shown in the leaks, it’s going to be pretty awful. Sorry, that’s just my take on the new iPhone.
Some even believe that Apple is going to get rid of the home button with an iris scan, but then again, I am not buying it. What about the possibility of the Touch ID embedding in the power button? Sounds like a plan to me!
Also, the new iPhone is going to be priced at $999 for the basic 64GB model and could go up to $1400. No, it just doesn’t make sense for Apple to go that high with the price. With this pricing, Apple is just going to make its devices unreachable for the masses.
But I just don’t buy any of it. So far, no one has been able to get their hands on to a real functioning device this time around. Much of everything that’s been out is based on rumors and not some pretty strong leaks. I could just not think that Apple would come up with that ugly vertical camera on the back that gives it a cheap look (I have seen a Huawei $150 to have a camera like that).
Meanwhile, you can also expect the upgraded iPhone 7 and 7 Plus with the design majorly staying the same but the back of the phone getting replaced with a glass. Don’t really know how people are making all such assumptions. Then again, I don’t buy it! But yes, there could be an iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus.
3rd Generation Apple Watch
Not that I am excited about this but a new watch could be on way too with 4G connectivity. Glad to know that Apple is following the lead of LG almost after two years since LG came up with a fully-independent 4G LTE Smartwatch. So nothing to impress me here. But it could be quite a big deal for the Apple Watch lovers as they could just leave their iPhone at home while going to the gym or a run.
There’s not much expected to change on the design of the watch, once again!
4K Apple TV
Well, for the Apple TV fanboys, a new 4K device could be on the way that’s expected to stream content at 4K with support for HDR, Dolby Vision, and HDR10. So get ready for some high-quality stuff when you upgrade your Apple TV. I would like to stick with my TV’s built-in Chromecast.
Apple already gave us a glimpse of its HomePod, a Siri-based alternative to Amazon Echo and Google Home but we can expect a full-fledged coverage of this IoT device. With the HomePod, you can control the lights or trigger scenes using your voice commands. Not really a fancy item for me but if you really want to get the tech game at your home an upgrade, HomePod could be the solution.
HomePod is expected to come at a price of $350 and shipping won’t start until the 4th quarter of this year.
We already have seen what the iOS 11 is going to be equipped with but with the iPhone 8 unveiling, we might be able to discover the true potential of the new iOS. The iOS 11 is going to come with a whole new function area. You could also expect a touch bar on the function area just like the Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro 2017.
It’s just the tip of the iceberg but there are going to be some pretty good increments in the new iOS 11 which will make the entire difference this time around.
Even though EarPods didn’t get much of an attention, Apple could be having a new generation EarPods with a better sound, noise cancellation during calls, heart rate monitor and even a built-in biometric scanner. Even though the EarPods weren’t cheap, they were still able to draw some good sales.
It’s Apple’s 10th Anniversary this time and something extraordinary is meant to happen. For me, none of the rumors regarding the new iPhone 8 are going to be true. Even the indented display makes little sense to me. Vivo has already launched its under-the-display biometric scanner so why can’t Apple? And if they can’t, it’s just a proof that they aren’t the innovators that they claim to be!
