Like Netflix-ing during Holidays? Well, it’s not really a good news for you then because it’s going to cost you a bit more to enjoy all those Netflix originals.
But wait, why is that not really a big news?
A little time back, I decided to do a little reading on how Netflix is able to come up with a new Netflix Original ever now and then. I know that not all of their shows are big-budget TV giants like Game of Thrones but it still requires shit loads of money.
If you Netflix, you could see that they have a pretty decent big library of Netflix Originals. Not just that, they have a seemingly big collection of movies and shows.
What creates a bit of problem is that if you don’t have an eclectic taste in TV shows, you may not be able to make the most out of your Netflix subscription. But for someone like me who can give anything a try, I bet a few-dollar change won’t make any difference.
Moreover, it’s worth acknowledging that Netflix is in $20 billion debt and if they won’t be increasing the prices, they may just go down. So if you love Netflix, this slight price increase is one way to appreciate their work.
Now, let’s check the price “hikes”.
There’s a $1 increase for the standard subscription, which means, U.S. users will now pay $10.99. The price of the premium tier (that comes with 4 screens and UHD) has been increased from $11.99 to $13.99. That’s a $2 increase. For the basic users, the price stays same at $7.99.
However, we can’t forget that a few dollars could make a difference for people because you aren’t paying hundreds but a few bucks for your Netflix subscription.
Most of the people on Twitter also believe that the price increase is totally worth it. Real Netflix-bingers know that the company is putting a lot into providing them with quality time in front of our TVs.
What do you think of the price change?
